The two outbuildings flanking the rear of Saasveld were originally used as wine cellars and sheds.
Today they house the office of the museum manager and of the Huguenot Society of South Africa. Room is also given over to a small exhibition of old wine making equipment.
When Saasveld was reconstructed the two buildings were connected with a colonnade inscribed with the Huguenot motto: Post Tenebras Lux (After Darkness Light).
